Design Project 4
Community Challenge:
Device design for a working Mother with autoimmune conditions
For project 4, I was assigned new team members to work with. As always, we were, instructed to assign new administrative positions for each team member. This time around, I was assigned the subject matter expert role, and I was in charge of keeping track and compiling all research sources that we used for the project. This project was client-based, where each team was assigned to work on a design that was unique and based on the specific problem that the team was addressing. The client has three autoimmune conditions, is a breast cancer survivor, and has come to McMaster University's 1P13 class to find a design that helps her live a more predictable life. After, we revised our problem statement and created a morph chart to explore multiple design options. Then, we created multiple concept sketches of those design options, created some initial prototypes, and eventually narrowed the project down to one design. Finally, we iterated over multiple design improvements of our chosen design, and eventually created the finished product shown to the right.
